Marco Rubio is a United States Senator from Florida; he has been in office since January 2011. He previously served as Speaker of the United States House of Representatives in Florida. Born in Florida to Cubans who immigrated to the United States before Fidel Castro’s rise, neither of his parents was an American citizen at the time of Rubio’s birth.
