Netography, a security firm for the atomized network with headquarters in Annapolis, Maryland, received $45 million in Series A funding.
Along with current investors Andreessen Horowitz, Mango Capital, Harpoon Ventures, and Wing Venture Capital, Bessemer Venture Partners and SYN Ventures led the round.
The cash will be applied by the company toward sales, channel expansion, and new technological advancements and enhancements.
Under the direction of CEO Martin Roesch and Chief Architect Barrett Lyon, Netography has created a cloud-native SaaS network detection and response (NDR) platform to secure the modern enterprise network’s complex, multi-cloud, on-premises, and legacy architecture. In addition to offering visibility and threat detection to manage packages, Netography ingests network metadata from all of these different systems, enriches it, and offers reusable connectors to block, reroute, orchestrate, and inform or warn. Without adding new physical or virtual sensors or appliances to handle or dealing with the difficulties of cumbersome full packet capture and deep packet inspection solutions, the company’s technology deploys, runs, and scales using the cloud.
