A $33 million Series B fundraising round was secured by Plus One Robotics, a San Antonio, Texas-based supplier of vision software logistics robots.
The round, which was announced in April 2021, was co-led by McRock Capital and Translink Capital with participation from, among others, existing investors CEAS, Lerer Hippeau, Pritzker Group Venture Capital, and Zebra Ventures, as well as BMW I Ventures, Kensington Capital Partners, Perot Jain, and Ironspring Ventures. Whitney Rockley of McRock Capital and Toshi Otani of Translink Capital will join the organization’s board of directors in conjunction with the fundraising.
The company plans to use the money for further product development as well as for US and European expansion.
Erik Nieves, the company’s CEO and co-founder, leads Plus One, which offers PickOne, 3D and AI-powered vision software that integrates with any robot, gripper, and cloud service to give accurate hand-eye synchronisation that enables robots to carry out a variety of warehouse activities. The supervisory software from Plus One, Yonder, makes use of human intelligence to handle exceptions for the variety of products moving from dock to door. Up to 50 robots can be remotely controlled by a single person, or Crew Chief, enabling businesses to satisfy the needs of the 24/7 customer.
